Volkswagen wants to know. The next record is planned with the all-electric ID.R in China.

The red of the ID.R represents the fifth record attempt by the 500 kW (680 hp) all-electric prototype, marking the next milestone in the project.

99 narrow turns to the gate of heaven
Following record-breaking drives in the USA and Europe, Volkswagen is now focusing on China, an important market for the brand. The Tianmen Shan Big Gate Road in China is a spectacular mountain road that leads up the 1519-meter-high Tianmen Mountain in 99 curves.
For the time being, the track is probably the most sensational piece of asphalt that the Volkswagen ID.R will take under its wheels: Dangerously narrow, enormously steep and extremely winding - this stretch really has it all. From 200 meters above sea level, it winds its way along steep rock faces up to 1300 meters to the so-called "Gateway to Heaven.
A Range Rover Sport SVR had crossed the Tianmen in February (AutoSprintCH reported) in the unofficial record time of 9:51 minutes with an average of 68.8 km/h.
