Toyota has already earned five stars for environmental performance with three other models on the current list: the Prius Hybrid (94 out of 100 points), the Prius Plug-in Hybrid (97 points) and the Mirai fuel cell sedan (93 points).
The RAV4 Hybrid was awarded 78 out of a possible 100 points.
Requirements in practical cycles
The Ecotest has been in existence since 2003 and the test criteria are continuously adapted to current requirements. In practical cycles, reliable statements can be made on CO2 emissions and the legally limited pollutants carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxide (NOX), hydrocarbons (HC), particulate mass and particle count on the test bench and with control measurements on the road.

Last year, over 80 percent of RAV4 customers in Switzerland opted for the hybrid drive. The RAV4 is available in the gasoline version and with the hybrid system with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available on request and the trailer load is two tons
