The release of dopamine increases well-being and reduces stress. A survey conducted by Seat revealed some astonishing results, such as the 20 music tracks that put people in a particularly good mood while driving.
Listening to music in the car makes you happy
90 percent of the drivers surveyed said that listening to music in the car made them happy. In fact, the vast majority (84 percent) always or very often listen to their favorite music while driving, according to a survey of 2,000 drivers aged 18 to 84.
These findings are supported by a study published in Nature magazine: Scientists found that the happiness hormone dopamine is released when we listen to music. Our feeling of happiness is also particularly heightened when we listen to a song we especially like.
The natural sound is important
For music to have its full effect while driving, the installed sound system must sound as natural and powerful as possible. The sound quality depends on several factors. Every verse of Queen's super hit is a perfect example of the effect music can have on drivers. According to the participants in the study, the song "Bohemian Rhapsody," recorded in 1975, is at the top of the list of the 20 best songs while driving.
The top ten includes many well-known earworms, such as Abba's "Dancing Queen" in second place, followed by Bon Jovi's "Livin' On A Prayer" and other hits from the 80s like "Walking On Sunshine" or "Eye Of The Tiger".

The Seat ambassadors also like to listen to music in their cars. Presenter Christa Rigozzi's current favorite song is "Calma" by Pedro Capó and Farruko: "The song reminds me of the sun and the beach and just puts me in a good mood. Actor Anatole Taubman mainly relies on news broadcasts from the BBC News World Wide Service in the car but he likes to turn up the volume on these hits: "Baby love" by the Supremes, "Friday I'm in Love" by The Cure and "Nutbush City Limits" by Ike and Tina Turner.
