The end of the vacations is also approaching in Hamburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Rhineland-Palatinate, Schleswig-Holstein and Saarland. The ADAC is now expecting increasing obstructions on the return routes. From Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, the second wave of travelers is heading south and towards the sea.

Affected in both directions are the trunk roads to the North Sea and Baltic Sea, the A 1 Puttgarden - Hamburg - Bremen, A 3 Passau - Nuremberg - Frankfurt - Cologne, A 5 Hattenbacher Dreieck - Frankfurt - Karlsruhe - Basel, A 6 Mannheim - Heilbronn - Nuremberg, A 7 Füssen/Reutte - Würzburg - Hannover - Hamburg -Flensburg, A 8 Karlsruhe - Stuttgart - Munich - Salzburg, A 9 Munich - Nuremberg - Berlin, A 10 Berliner Ring and A 11 Dreieck Uckermark - Berlin, A 24 Hamburg - Berlin and A 61 Mönchengladbach - Koblenz - Ludwigshafen as well as A 81 Heilbronn - Stuttgart - Singen, A 93 Inntaldreieck - Kufstein, A 95/B 2 Munich - Garmisch-Partenkirchen, A 96 Munich - Lindau and A 99 Munich bypass.
Gotthard route becomes bottleneck
The risk of traffic jams is high in all directions. The problem routes include the Tauern, Fernpass, Brenner, Karawanken and Gotthard routes, as well as the trunk roads to the Italian, French and Croatian coasts. Along the Austrian Inntal, Brenner and Tauern highways, increased traffic volumes are also to be expected due to the closure of alternative routes.
Waiting times due to Formula 1 race
The rush of visitors to the Formula 1 race in Budapest is likely to further aggravate the congestion situation on the Austrian A 1 and A 4 highways and the Hungarian M 1. At the Suben (A 3 Linz - Passau), Walserberg (A 8 Salzburg - Munich) and Kiefersfelden (A 93 Kufstein - Rosenheim) freeway crossings, waiting times must be expected due to border controls.
