Mobility: Success with Swiss garage owners

30 to 50 garages in the first half of 2019. That was the common goal when the project was presented in December 2018. A total of 53 members at 48 locations already offer their garage vehicles to the cooperative's more than 180,000 customers.
Project manager Karl Baumann, head of the Industry Representation Business Unit at the AGVS: "Most garage owners have started with a sharing vehicle. That is entirely intentional in this phase of the project. The garage owner is to use a vehicle to test how he can integrate the process into his operations. This includes installing the necessary equipment, booking and maintenance, among other things."

Further expansion of the Mobility network
The participating garages are for the most part brand dealers. The reason: The vehicles should not be older than 18 months and have a maximum of 20,000 kilometers on the clock. The locations are spread throughout Switzerland, but there are still gaps.
Karl Baumann: "Of course, with Mobility we would like to further expand and densify the network. We are thinking primarily of rural areas. I advise anyone interested to get in touch so that we can put them on the waiting list."

Growing interest from the authorities
The fact that the project is exciting and has a promising future is evidenced not only by the feedback from the participating garage owners, but also by the growing interest shown by local authorities. Karl Baumann: "In the meantime, even municipalities have approached us on their own initiative to see if we can work with a local garage owner to place a sharing vehicle at the municipal building, for example."
