The appointment of Jan Monchaux as Head of Engineering underlines the continuity in Hinwil. In the future, he will not only be responsible for the aerodynamics of the Alfa Sauber F1 race cars.

Jan Monchaux was previously Head of Aerodynamics at Sauber Motorsport AG, which is responsible for the management and operational deployment of Alfa Romeo Racing in Formula 1. The 41-year-old Frenchman, who also holds German citizenship, will take over from Technical Director Simone Resta, who is returning to Scuderia Ferrari, on August 1.

Experience with Le Mans prototypes and Formula 1
Monchaux is a graduate in Aerospace Engineering from Imperial College London. Before joining the Hinwil-based company, he worked as Head of Vehicle Engineering & Aerodynamics at Audi Sport for five years. Marcel Fässler's third and last Le Mans victory in 2014 with the Audi R18 e-tron quattro therefore also falls within his time.

Monchaux began his career in motorsport in 2002 (until 2009) in the aerodynamics department of Toyota Motorsport, and from 2010 to 2012 he worked in the same capacity at Ferrari.

Jan Monchaux: "I am looking forward to this new challenge. The company owners, the board of directors and the team boss are sending a clear message: they value continuity and believe in the current team and its work. Now it's up to us to justify this choice. I am convinced that we have a rosy future ahead of us."
