The video of the Friends of Swiss Motorsport shows some passages of this race held since 2012 on the new track from Bächli high to Hemberg. Around 170 vehicles, ranging from production cars to thoroughbred racing sports cars, will be battling for the first points in the 2019 Swiss Mountain Championship on Sunday, June 16. On Saturday, four practice runs are scheduled for all fields from 7:30 a.m. to around 6 p.m., and on Sunday, after a free practice session (from 7:30 a.m.), the first of three race runs will start at 9:36 a.m., according to the schedule.

Berguerand, Steiner or a touring car?
We have dealt with the field of participants in various preliminary reports. The day's victory will normally be decided between defending champion and track record holder Marcel Steiner in the LobArt sports car and Eric Berguerand in the out-of-form Lola Cosworth race car. In changeable weather conditions, the fastest touring car drivers Ronnie Bratschi, Thomas Kessler and Roger Schnellmann can also have a say in the overall victory with their up to 800 hp, all-wheel drive Mitsubishi Evo VIII.

Shuttle buses from Wattwil
The journey can be comfortably managed by public transport and shuttle buses. Those arriving by car must park in Wattwil. From there, shuttle buses will take spectators who have also arrived by train directly to the entrance in Hemberg. This service is included in the price of 7 Swiss francs for a parking space. Arrival by motorcycle is only possible from the direction of Nesslau/Ebnat-Kappel.

On foot along the route
The spectator areas along the 1.75 kilometer race course can be reached on foot either from Hemberg or from the start in Bächli. Good footwear is recommended. Children under 12 experience the action for free, adults benefit from the advance booking discount (until and including Friday, June 14). The box offices will be open from 7.15 a.m. on both days.

For all fans and friends of the mountain race Hemberg, the club has recently redesigned the homepage and listed all further information there.
