WTCR driver Benjamin Leuchter shows what can be expected from the VW T-Roc R at the Nürburgring.

The four-cylinder TSI engine with 2.0 liter displacement and TSI technology in the T-Roc R has 300 hp and provides 400 Nm of torque. The T-Roc R is equipped with the all-wheel drive 4Motion and 7-speed DSG transmission. It takes 4.9 seconds to sprint to 100 km/h, and the speed is electronically limited at 250 km/h.

Sport suspension including lowering
The sports suspension, including lowering, ensures optimum roadholding. The progressive steering makes a decisive contribution to agile handling. The 17-inch brake system, previously reserved for the Volkswagen Golf R Performance, guarantees effective deceleration. The driving profiles also include a special Race mode, which enables particularly sporty performance.

Special designs inside and outside
The sporty features are underlined by a specific and unmistakable design in the interior and exterior. The redesigned radiator grille, for example, features a shiny silver band of anodized aluminum across its entire width at the lower end.

Synonym for powerful vehicles
Even the vehicle key with the R logo signals access to a special vehicle. When the doors are opened, the eye is drawn to the stainless steel door sill trims, which also bear the R logo, and thus to the symbol that has been synonymous with particularly high-performance and exclusively designed automobiles at Volkswagen since 2010.

Record broken with insane time
The new T-Roc R was tested by Volkswagen R at the Nürburgring, among other places. The Wolfsburg professionals had also chosen the legendary Nordschleife for the next record attempt with the all-electric ID.R. The previous best time for electric vehicles had stood at 6:45.90 minutes since 2017.
The driver of the ID.R during all the test drives and the final record attempt was four-time winner of the ADAC 24 Hours of Nürburgring, Romain Dumas: "Driving the almost silent ID.R through such historic sections of the track as the airfield, fox tube and carousel is a special feeling."
