On Sunday morning at Hockenheim, the two Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO cars took the first two grid positions for the second race of the weekend. Norbert Siedler and Mikael Grenier in the number 14 car turned the excellent starting position into a start/finish victory in the 70 minutes, closely followed by the sister car of Albert Costa Balboa and Giacomo Altoè.

Increasingly better understanding
For the team from Safenwil, this means the first double victory in the company's recent history. No one was more delighted about this than team boss Lorenz Frey, who took his place on the podium with his four drivers, as the video shows.

Lorenz Frey: "We were able to significantly improve our qualifying performance on Sunday. We also understand the Lamborghini, which is new to us, better and better with every lap. In qualifying for the second race we were also a bit lucky with the double pole, because two competitors didn't or couldn't complete the laps, otherwise we would have been more realistically in third and fourth place. After that, our race pace suited us better and we were able to control the race. The result shows that we are on the right track."

Leadership in both championships
In Saturday's first race, the Lamborghini of Altoè/Balboa Costa finished third, but was relegated to fifth place (3rd category PRO) due to a subsequent 3-second penalty. The second team finished 7th overall and 4th in the PRO classification.

The two duos had already won one race each at the season opener in Le Castellet. With the points from the second race weekend of 2019, Emil Frey Racing leads the team and driver standings with both cars. The next race will take place over Whitsun (June 7-9) in Spa.

In formation flight, the two blue-and-white Lamborghinis circled the Hockenheimring on Safenwil.
