Last year, the audience at the Rallye du Chablais not only enjoyed Ari Vatanen's performance on the special stages, but also off the track in the paddock or elsewhere. The 1980 World Rally Champion (in a Ford Escort) obviously had just as much fun returning to Aigle and the Chablais for the third SM round on May 30 and June 1, 2019. If he put his mind to it, the Finn would certainly still be one of the fastest. However, the Finn will leave it at being the lead rider in the VHC field.
In his career, Vatanen has won ten rounds of the World Rally Championship and the Paris-Dakar Rally four times. The star guest will once again be driving a BMW E30 M3. The same model will set the tone this year with the likes of Marc Valliccioni (winner of the Pays du Gier and Critérium Jurassien), Eddy Bérard and Erwin Keller (who will not be back until the Ticino) at the wheel.
