The racing team WS Racing, based in Trierweiler, Germany, is entering the 2019 motorsport season with Jasmin Preisig and an all-female team in the Endurance Championship (VLN) and the Nürburrring 24-hour race. Not only the driver lineup is female, but the entire team: from the team manager to the female engineers and mechatronics technicians.
Platform for professional sports
With this series, Volkswagen wants to offer women a professionally oriented platform in motorsport so that they can develop in a competitive environment and hold their own at the ADAC Zurich 24-hour race at the Nürburgring on June 22 and 23. At this seasonal highlight on the Nordschleife, the first all-female racing team in history will challenge the male competition, freely following the motto: Girls only - ready to rock the Green Hell.
Second place in class in the first race
At the first round of the VLN on , the ladies already drove faster than most others - and sprinted to second place in their class. It will be interesting to see what Jasmin and her teammates will achieve this year.
