Parental Leave
During parental leave, employment protection applies to all Volvo employees

New fathers and mothers at Volvo Car Switzerland AG are therefore entitled to 24 weeks of parental leave from the birth or adoption of their child, which is compensated at 80 percent of their current salary and can be used during the first three years after the birth or adoption.

Important step towards equality
Natalie Robyn, Managing Director Volvo Switzerland: "With the expansion of parental leave, we want to give the mothers and fathers among our employees the time they need to look after their families and young children and to build a bond with them. In our view, the extended parental leave is another important step towards equality between fathers and mothers and parents in different family constellations."

Family and career in the best possible harmony
Natalie Robyn: "The six-month parental leave from May 1 reflects the Swedish understanding of balancing private life, i.e. family, and work in the best possible way. The scheme is also part of Volvo Cars' global human resources strategy to position the company as the employer of choice for new talent.
