After it was still wet in the morning practice, the 37 players in the Suzuki Swiss Racing Cup were able to contest their two race runs on Saturday afternoon on dry surfaces. Whatever the conditions, Marcel Muzzarelli was the fastest on the 2.7-long course on the Grosse Allmend in Frauenfeld. For the multiple champion in one-make cups, this actually meant the first victory at his home race, where he is also involved in the organization.
Schneider shows nerves of steel
The closest to him was Simeon Schneider. Like Fabian Eggenberger, he collected a time penalty in the first run. In the second run, the skier from Zurich was by no means only concerned about safety and set a time that only Muzzarelli was able to beat by 17 hundredths. Fabian Eggenberger, on the other hand, had to be content with an unusual place next to the podium in fourth place behind Patrick Flammer.
Fehr could more
After the victory in Interlaken, his long-time rival from last year, Sandro Fehr, had to settle for sixth place behind Ralf Henggeler. The St. Gallen native thus fell behind the new leader Muzzarelli and the now second-placed Schneider in the standings. Only 99 hundredths separated the top 5, and this with a driving time of around 2 minutes 16.
