E-Prix Bern: Critics are allowed to join in 🎥
COMPETITION On June 22, the second Formula E race in Switzerland will take place in Bern. Because so many motorsport fans don't know what to do with it, we are introducing them to Formula E. Especially on social media, a number of licensed drivers and fans repeatedly speak out before and after each race, for example after articles by AutoSprintCH. The general tenor: Formula E is allowed to do what we have been forbidden to do since 1955, with the exception of a few races in Lignières - namely start a circuit race in Switzerland.
A real competition
Motorsport is motorsport, whether with combustion engines, electric or soon with hydrogen-powered racing cars (at Le Mans from 2024). It's about competition between manufacturers and drivers, which spectators generally also enjoy.
Since many licensed drivers, their supporters and spectators of conventional racing obviously don't like the whole thing, AutoSprintCH, in cooperation with Audi works driver Nico Müller and Auto Sport Schweiz, is approaching the critics as a sporting authority.
Nico Müller knows the difficulties
Critics (and supporters) will first be invited to a presentation by Nico Müller on Thursday evening (June 20) before the race weekend about the technology and the difficulties involved in handling the electric racing cars. The man from Bern is the official test and reserve driver in the Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler team.
On Friday morning, all selected participants are invited to an exclusive pit visit with Nico Müller with a look behind the scenes. Afterwards, they will be allowed to walk the closed-off Bern circuit with him. The level of difficulty will be explained to them.
In the MySport Switzerland video, filmed in January, OC boss Pascal Derron gives an insight into the course in Bern:

Three laps of the Bern circuit
The highlight: everyone can then take part in a competition. Anyone who answers the most questions correctly and has a racing license from ASS (REG, NAT or INT) will be allowed to drive three laps of the closed-off circuit in the electric racing car provided by the series partners on Saturday morning before the start of training.
Understandably, for safety reasons, the official safety car of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship drives ahead at an appropriate speed. The best non-licensed driver in the competition is allowed to ride along as a passenger.
Registration via Facebook
Anyone who wants to be convinced of Formula E in this way should go to https://www.facebook.com/autosprintch with a comment in which he or she expresses and justifies his or her honest interest. He or she should also state whether or not he or she has racing experience.
The jury consisting of Nico Müller, AS sports editor Peter Wyss and ASS director Patrick Falk will select 30 participants (15 with and 15 without a license) from all the entries. These will be invited to the presentation, the pit inspection and the track walk followed by the competition.
Entries are possible as of now. Legal recourse is excluded.
