In total, the professional fire department of the city of Berne had to respond 2343 times last year. This corresponds to a theoretical average of six and a half call-outs per day. A large proportion of these are so-called emergency services, such as rescues of people and animals or storm and lightning damage. Thomas Berger, know-how carrier and member of the procurement group: "Our PI 42, or pioneer vehicle 42, is ideal for such moments. When storms uproot trees or lightning damages buildings, the PI 42 comes into play."
