Meanwhile, the French brand, which has secured the services of former world rally champion Ari Vatanen as technical advisor and ambassador, is on the verge of a huge increase in production. By the end of the year, 200 examples of the new DB 718 model are to have been sold. Currently, 50 units have already been reserved.

Modest electric motor as drive
The DB 718 shown in Geneva deliberately plays with styling elements from a long-forgotten era when sports cars rolled on spoked wheels, bulky running boards made it easier to get in, fenders were available at most as an option and steering wheels were still made of wood.
However, under the long hood there is no powerful eight-cylinder engine, but a modestly sized 15 kW (20 hp) electric motor combined with a 15.3 kWh battery. Equipped in this way, the nostalgic two-seater achieves a range of 150 kilometers.

Top speed of 110 km/h
The DB 718's performance doesn't necessarily live up to the expectations promised by its sporty body. The time between zero and 100 km/h is eight seconds - sounds quite good, but the top speed is already reached at 110 km/h. The drivers can select three driving settings via the on-board computer (Eco, Normal and Sport). The drivers can select three driving settings (Eco, Normal and Sport) via the on-board computer.
