The history of Hispano Suiza began more than 100 years ago.

After more than 12,000 luxury cars and 50,000 aircraft engines in the first four decades of the last century and two prototypes at the beginning of this millennium, Hispano Suiza is entering the stage once again. The Carmen - named after the granddaughter of the company's founder, who died last year - has an output of 1019 hp (750 kW) thanks to two engines on the rear axle, accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in under three seconds and is electronically braked at 250 km/h. The vehicle is said to weigh 1.7 tons and be more streamlined than the Porsche 918 Spyder, Koenigsegg Agera R and Ferrari F12. The range is said to be around 400 kilometers.

Only 19 copies
The two-seater is 4.73 meters long, has a wheelbase of 2.80 meters and is 1.24 meters flat. The shape is inspired by the Hispano Suiza Dubonnet Xenia, a one-off from 1938. Only 19 of the new vehicle with carbon monocoque are to be built over the next two years. The price is 1.5 million euros excluding taxes. (ampnet/jri)
