The new sports car is based on the Golf GTI Clubsport developed for the 40th GTI anniversary. With its 265 hp (290 hp is temporarily available via the boost function) and completely new aerodynamics in many areas, including the corresponding downforce values, it already sets new standards. With the Golf GTI Clubsport S, presented as a world premiere at the GTI meeting at Wörthersee (May 4 to 7, 2016), Volkswagen is now crowning the l model series. Permanently available 310 hp, a 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of 5.8 seconds, an open 265 km/h top speed and a kerb weight reduced to 1360 kilograms (including driver and luggage) are the de facto benchmarks of the new Golf GTI flagship.
400 copies worldwide - 50 of them for Switzerland
The number of 400 units is set as a worldwide edition; 50 of these will be delivered in Switzerland. The colors of the special series follow the original GTI: "Tornado Red," "Pure White" and "Deep Black Pearl Effect. The roof of the white and red GTI is also optionally painted black. No matter where in the world this car turns up, it will always be a manual two-door for weight reasons. The model will go on sale in the fall. Prices have not yet been set.
