Louis Delétraz: 2019 in the Carlin championship team
FORMULA 2 2019 is "all or nothing" for Louis Delétraz. The 21-year-old from Geneva is tackling his third season in Formula 2 with defending champion Carlin. Louis Delétraz made a promising Formula 2 debut with the champion team from England at the end of 2016 in Abu Dhabi. He tested again at the same venue last November following the season finale. The Genevan set the best time over all three days.
No more space at Charouz
The decision to switch teams therefore comes as no surprise, even though he would have liked to continue driving for Charouz. Because the Czechs will operate as the Sauber Junior Team from 2019 and also have to represent the interests of Ferrari and Alfa Romeo and their support program, there was no longer any room for Delétraz.
However, he does not appear to be unhappy about the switch to Carlin,
Louis Delétraz: "I immediately felt at home in the team. You could see that from my lap times. I'm confident that we have a good year ahead of us."
Victories and championship in sight
In his third season in the forecourt of Formula 1, which he got to know for a day as a test driver at Haas, there is only one motto for Delétraz.
Louis Delétraz: "With my experience in Formula 2, I now want to win races and fight for the championship. My good Formula 1 test day with Haas showed me what the reward for a Formula 2 champion can be. I am all the more determined to achieve this goal in 2019."
Delétraz's best finishes to date are two second places. The Swiss rider has been consistently fast in most races. He wants to build on this with the championship-winning team. However, in view of the strong competition, he will undoubtedly have to step up a gear to achieve his ambitious goals.
