The photographer of the current issue is Albert Watson. He took the pictures last April in Miami and New York. In front of his camera acted Gigi Hadid, Alexander Wang, Julia Garner, Misty Copeland, Calvin Royal III, Laetitia Casta and Sergei Polunin. The forty shots in color and black and white, format 16:9, can not hide Albert Watson's passion for film.
Positive images of the woman of today
Albert Watson: "When I started the project, I wanted to do it differently than my predecessors and I wondered how best to do that. I wanted to do more than simply depict people. I want everyone who looks at the calendar to see that I'm discovering the women who acted in front of my camera and creating a situation from which a positive image of women today emerges."
Dreams must be hard earned
As the photographer explains how he realized the calendar, he talks about his own dreams and the hardships and sacrifices associated with them: "If you want to realize a dream, you have to work hard for it. I've always taken it one step at a time, reaching one goal at a time without trying to climb the ladder to the top in one leap."
You can not buy the calendar. There are only a few copies for Switzerland. Pirelli surprises partners and customers with the coveted work at the turn of the year.
