Louis Delétraz has already been on the podium of a Formula 2 race twice this year, finishing second in both the Monaco and Le Castellet races. His father Jean-Denis Delétraz was on the grid of a Grand Prix three times in 1994 at the Australian GP (with Larrousse) and in 1995 in Portugal and at the Nürburgring (with Pacific).
Grant for the Formula 1 teams
After the conclusion of the Formula 1 World Championship on November 25 in Abu Dhabi, the teams will add two test days to test the Pirelli tires for 2019. Various GP teams use this opportunity to sift through drivers from Formula 2 or other up-and-coming formulas - admittedly for good money.
The 21-year-old Geneva native will be allowed to do his laps in a current Haas-Ferrari VF-18 at the Yas Marina Circuit on November 28, the second day of testing. In doing so, he will take work off the hands of the other Geneva native, Romain Grosjean, who has been driving for Haas under a French license since 2016...
Delétraz will join the team at the Brazilian GP the weekend after next. After that, he will also be at the GP in Abu Dhabi to familiarize himself with the people and the task ahead.

The Formula 1 test is made possible for Delétraz by his long-time sponsor ADSS. The financial services company has its base in Abu Dhabi.
Louis Delétraz: "Of course I'm already excited to soon be driving a current Formula 1 race car. My goal is to understand and learn all the processes so that I can quickly get used to the car and give the team good feedback. It's perfect to end my racing season in this way and to be able to show what I can do once again. I have developed as a race driver in 2018 and will also benefit from this F1 test in this respect. I thank everyone who has made this possible for me."
