Oski Kuhn still likes it fast at 75. He bought a Peugeot 308 GTi for 2018. He arrives with Pirelli semislicks and drives the races with them.

A Swiss slalom or mountain race without Oski Kuhn? There must be special reasons for such a race to be held without the master baker from Zurich, or to have been held without him in the past.

Prize winners at the race car show
Around 50 years ago, Kuhn started racing cars, which he got into by chance. As a spectator, he attended many a Swiss race, then in winter also the SAR racing car show in the Züspa halls - and won a top prize there.

Jo Siffert, whom he admired, played Lady Luck and drew a training course for him at Hockenheim. Kuhn completed it with distinction and then entered national racing.

For practical reasons, he remained loyal to production cars for about five decades. Initially in Group 1, then in Group N and only briefly in Group A. From the introduction of the Group SuperSeries, he was here at the start.

Oski Kuhn: "So I could already enjoy driving my car fast on the way to the race. On the race course, I then only had to change the tires."

The jubilarian races every possible Swiss race and is happy about every trophy, like here on July 1 in Reitnau.

No ambitions for title honors
Kuhn never had any championship ambitions. Apart from the RCU club championship, the Zurich native only won numerous class and group victories. For him, it was always just about driving, as often as possible, even two races in one weekend.

For the 2018 season, Kuhn switched to a Peugeot 308 GTi and raced it in the SuperSeries Competition group. "It goes like compressed air," he soon noted in awe.

As in the early days, he is accompanied to the races by life partner Evi. The only thing Oski no longer needs is a tire change, so he travels on semislicks and leaves them on for the time hunt.

As a soloist in his class, Kuhn achieved several class victories in the past season. The sprightly senior was just as happy about these as everyone else present at the award ceremonies.

As long as his health permits, Oski Kuhn wants to continue racing.

Oski Kuhn: "I don't want to sit around at home. I love the contact on the racecourse with the many other riders. I know practically everyone, or the boys then get to know me, and I enjoy the many conversations."

AutoSprintCH wishes Oski Kuhn all the best for his 75th birthday - and we also look forward to many more encounters with the jubilarian.
