Suzuki: The repeat of June 🎥
SUZUKI GRAND PRIX As in June at the Romont slalom on the same slope, Fabian Eggenberger won the duel with Sandro Fehr at the Drognens slalom. But both skied even a little bit faster. Sandro Fehr swore revenge - but Fabian Eggenberger once again had the upper hand. Eggenberger set an incredible time of 1'18.366 in the first race and was more than two seconds faster than his favorite opponent Fehr.
Fabian Eggenberger: "It was a bit strange to lead by 2.5 seconds after the first race run... Four runs, four best times - I'm happy."
The last time with the Swift Sport
Like Fehr, he only regrets that this was the Suzuki Swift Sport's last appearance on this track - at least for them. After all, both want to enter the Suzuki one-make cup with the New Swift in 2019.
For the past three years, the Sukuki Grand Prix with Swift Sport 1600 classified in L2 to 1600 is only a temporary solution.
Fehr showed strong nerves during his faster second run. He was forced to stop by a hard impact from Gilbert Denzer. In the run replay, he went almost as fast as in the previous year's victory. So Fabian Eggenberger was only 1.15 seconds ahead at the end.
Sandro Fehr: "I achieved my top time so far on this track and am therefore satisfied. More is not possible for me. Fabian showed once again that it is still possible to go a notch faster. He's just in great form this year!"
The onboard shots from Sandro Fehr's cockpit show just how fast things move at the wheel of a Suzuki Swift during such a slalom.

Same podium as in summer
Less than two seconds behind in his faster first run, Bruno Bleiker took third place on the class and Suzuki podium.
Heiko Leiber, who took turns at the wheel with Eggenberger, had to admit defeat in fourth place by four tenths. The result was the same podium as in Romont in June and then in Chamblon.
Unlucky Gilbert Denzer could still be classified as fifth with his first running time. He left Denis Wolf behind him by 16 hundredths.
The Renault Classic Cup champion shared the black Swift with Dario Zutter, as he did at the beginning of the season in Frauenfeld, and beat the car owner again with only one faultless run.
