Mercedes: The electric EQC makes a start

Two electric motors together produce 300 kW (400 hp) and deliver a massive 765 Nm of torque. This ensures good driving performance: From a standstill, the car reaches 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds. The fully variable all-wheel drive also guarantees optimum traction in all road conditions and sufficient safety reserves.

Factory gives warranty over 160 000 kilometers
With the 80-kWh battery pack installed flat on the vehicle floor between the axles, the EQC achieves a range of around 400 kilometers according to the new WLTP cycle. To keep the know-how in-house, Daimler manufactures the batteries itself. In addition to AC charging at home, fast charging on the road is possible, with 110-kW direct current in less than 40 minutes. Mercedes provides a warranty for eight years or 160,000 kilometers. Of course, the EQC is not yet fully automated, but all the latest driver assistance systems are available.

Production is adjusted to demand
Production will start at the Bremen plant at the beginning of 2019, after which production will also take place in China, the USA and other European plants. As production will take place together with the conventional models, the production figure can easily be adjusted to demand. However, the price of the EQC is not yet known.
