Preparations for the folk festival are in full swing. Peter Schmid, Brand Director Volkswagen, and Marcel Schaffner, Brand Director VW Commercial Vehicles: "We want to use it to thank all drivers, fans and friends of the VW brand for a successful 70 years." The Big Party is the highlight of the 70th import anniversary celebrations. Guests will be presented with a wide range of historic and current vehicles, as well as electric models of the future. An off-road course, racing cab rides with the Golf GTI TCR touring car round off the program.
Wanted are the most beautiful Volkswagen
Visitors can present their Volkswagens on the festival grounds and face the expert jury of the "Automobile Beauty Contest". Participation with one's own vehicle in the classic and youngtimer exhibition costs 35 Swiss francs. Further information and registration on the website.
Current models and prototypes at a glance
The current models, such as the Touareg and T-Roc, the new Polo, the best-selling Golf and Tiguan, the Arteon and the T6 California camper van will not be missing. But Volkswagen's future is also ready and waiting at the Volksfest: For example, a representative of the all-electric concept cars of the Volkswagen I.D. family, the I.D. Crozz, can be examined. The I.D. Crozz will be launched on the Swiss market in 2020.
Open-air atmosphere with well-known Swiss acts
On Saturday afternoon, ambassador Trauffer will thrill his fans with an exclusive unplugged showcase and in the evening, Nickless will ensure a party atmosphere with his sound as well as Mr Ray's Class. Sunday morning belongs to the voice of Eliane and in the afternoon James Gruntz will melt hearts with his hit "Heart Keeps Dancing". The crowning finale: the gig by rapper and ambassador Stress.
