For four days, the Rundhofhalle at Messe Basel will once again be home to all the new products from the automotive world that will be on sale in Switzerland this fall. On 15,000 square meters of exhibition space, the regional garages from the cantons of Baselland and Baselstadt will again present all the novelties that the Swiss automotive market has to offer.
Dismounting and mounting options for commercial vehicles
More than 100 garages from the region are involved in the 40 brand stands. However, not only passenger cars will be on display. In a separate exhibition area, 50 commercial vehicles will also be presented, along with their equipment and body options. Auto Basel is thus also the first port of call for regional SMEs, which can get an idea of what the most modern commercial vehicles currently on offer on the Swiss market are.
New models available for test drive
Auto Basel is not only the annual showcase for the automotive industry in northwestern Switzerland, but also the third largest car show in Switzerland. Unique to Auto Basel is that virtually all the cars on display are also available for a test drive directly on site. As every year, exhibitors from the fields of tuning, car accessories and services (insurance companies, leasing providers, transport associations) complete the offer.
Energy efficient car as competition prize
As the main sponsor of Auto Basel, natural gas biogas is giving away a new Seat Ibiza FR CNG worth 18,000 Swiss francs at its stand this year. In these times of emissions scandals, a motor show like Auto Basel can no longer do without a focus on vehicles with natural gas, electric and other alternative forms of propulsion. Electric and other alternative forms of propulsion. And so Auto Basel is also a source of information about the advantages of these future-oriented drive variants.
Automotive Mechatronics Professional Championships
The AGVS (Swiss Association of the Automotive Trade) is holding the second regional vocational championship for apprentices in the automotive trade at its stand. In this professional championship, which is held in the same format as the World Professional Championship, sixteen apprentices compete for the title of the best automotive mechanic apprentice in the region.
The organizers expect again more than 25 000 visitors enthusiastic about the automobile. As always, admission to Auto Basel is free. More information will follow in the next few days.
