As expected, the fastest drivers in the F2000 Italian Trophy had the noses of their Formula 3 race cars in front. In both races over 16 laps on the former GP circuit of Imola, Alessandro Bracalente in a Dallara F312-VW clearly prevailed ahead of Bernardo Pellegrini in a Dallara F308-Toyota.
Sandro Zeller stayed on Pellegrini's tail in both heats in his Dallara F306-VW according to FIA regulations, but could not find a way past the Italian. However, the Zurich driver only saw his opponents in the Remus Cup in his rearview mirror for the first few laps before pulling away from them.
The Jurassic Antonino Pellegrino (Dallara F311-VW), who started under the Italian flag, was classified in the Italian class, but scored more points than ever before with his fourth place in the first round and sixth in the second round as the runner-up in the Remus classification in each case.
Marcel Tobler was the third best driver from Switzerland, finishing 6th and 7th, while Kurt Böhlen did not manage more than two ninth places in the 25-car field.

Three championship titles for Sandro Zeller
Sandro Zeller has thus already been confirmed as the overall winner of the 2018 Remus Formula 3 Cup ahead of the finale in Brno, Czech Republic. In twelve races so far, Zeller has celebrated eleven victories - impressive.
He also won the Horag Swiss Formula 3 Cup and the Trophy (for cars born between 1992 and 2007).
Italian Andrea Cola, who was not able to join the fight for the top positions on his home track, will fight it out with Marcel Tobler for the runner-up title in the Remus Cup.
The second place in the Swiss standings can practically only be disputed by Pellegrino. Böhlen only has a mathematical chance if Tobler drops out twice in Brno and he himself wins twice.
Renault title also goes to Switzerland
The Formula Renault Tatuus championship has also been decided early in favor of Florian Münger. In the first race Münger relegated the two class opponents Robert Siska and Marco Minelli to the places, in the second the Italian won in front of the American and the Swiss.
