The Hyundai Kona Electric is available from 44,900 francs. The Hyundai technicians state the engine's output as 395 Nm and 150 kW (204 hp). Enough for brisk sprints.

The small SUV Kona arrives quietly in September and the SUV newcomer Nexo in October: both powered exclusively by an electric motor via the front wheels. The Kona draws its power from a powerful lithium-ion battery, the Nexo from a fuel cell.

There are time differences when recharging
When driving, however, you can't tell where the electric power comes from, but you can when it comes to range and, above all, refueling. The Kona's battery is recharged in just under an hour at the 100 kW charging station, while the Nexo can be refueled in three to four minutes at the 700 bar hydrogen station. However, there are currently only two filling stations in German-speaking Switzerland where hydrogen for the fuel cell can be obtained.

Good driving performance and perfect equipment
The new Nexo, a completely independent successor to the ix35, impresses with good driving performance and perfect equipment. Thanks to its 120 kW electric motor (163 hp), the 4.67 meter long SUV accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 179 km/h. Nevertheless, it is primarily designed for comfortable, safe driving, with hardly any sporting ambitions. With a moderate driving style, the hydrogen charge lasts for around 750 kilometers.

Occasional intermediate spurts are fun
The small, but five-door and five-seater Kona is much sportier to drive. The Hyundai engineers have given its engine 395 Nm and 150 kW (204 hp). And this potential inevitably leads to occasional intermediate sprints - just to prove that although small and electric, it is anything but sluggish. And these sprints are great fun. The 100 km/h mark is reached after just 7.6 seconds from a standstill. According to the standard cycle, the 64 kWh battery lasts for 480 kilometers.
