Thomas Ingenlath, Chief Executive Officer Polestar "After the public premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March, we are delighted to be back in China - one of the key markets for our Polestar brand. It feels great to bring the Polestar brand and the Polestar 1 closer to the public." For now, the vehicle will be available through an all-inclusive subscription. Detailed pricing under the new innovative sales model will follow at a later date.
Production center in Chengdu, China
More than 7000 people from 18 countries, including Switzerland, have already expressed their interest in the first Polestar model. Since mid-March, pre-orders have been possible by means of a fully refundable deposit, which secures a place on the waiting list. Immediately following the unveiling of the brand and model last October, the company began construction of its Polestar Production Center in Chengdu, China. The Polestar Production Center is where all Polestar 1s are built for customers around the world.
Strong performance and 150 kilometer range
The Polestar 1 is a 2+2-seater grand tourer coupe with a high-performance hybrid powertrain that produces 441 kW (600 hp) of power and 1000 Nm of torque and offers 150 kilometers of range in all-electric mode. The Electric Performance Hybrid powertrain consists of an internal combustion engine driving the front wheels and a dual electric drive system on the rear axle, powered by a total of 34 kWh of battery power. This combination makes the Polestar 1 an electric vehicle that is additionally supported by an internal combustion engine for long distances.
