"Seppi", alias Josef Koch, not only puts his foot down on the racetrack, but also likes to do it off it. For him and his colleagues from the IG Motor Sport Team Central Switzerland, socializing is as important as racing.
Both are to be celebrated on Saturday at the Boxenstop Festival in Malters just outside Lucerne. In the large modern hall of Zurkirchen Reisen, there is space for a racing car exhibition and a festive restaurant.
Free admission for spectators and bar with open end
The Racing Show includes a colorful cross-section of the national automobile sport with some attractive vehicles. Some examples are the Lancia Delta S4 of "Rocket Bruno" Ianniello, the Ferrari 355 GT of René Ruch, the Mitsubishi Mirage Proto of Michael Widmer, the Seat Leon TCR of Michael Zemp, the Nissan Nismo GTR of Hans Schori and many more.
The location is signposted from the Maters motorway exit. Where the pit stop festival takes place, Seppi Koch shows in a short video:
From 11 am spectators are welcome with free admission - racers from all over Switzerland anyway - welcome. Interesting benzing conversations are guaranteed.
From 7 p.m. there will be a bar with lively music from past decades. Those who know the people of Central Switzerland (like the author) know that such an event can drag on into the early hours of the morning.
