With a range of up to 150 kilometers, the Polestar 1 can travel further than any other plug-in hybrid vehicle on electricity from the battery alone. Combined with a four-cylinder from the Drive-E engine family of Polstar parent Volvo, the vehicle develops a system output of 600 hp and 1000 Newton meters of torque.
So far there are 5000 interested parties worldwide
The white coupe is still a prototype, but the model is expected to be in dealerships in 2019. And possibly in larger numbers than originally planned: Polestar had initially assumed an annual production of 500 units over a period of three years. That doesn't seem to be nearly enough. The magazine Automotive News Europe reports that 5000 interested parties have already contacted Polestar.
Expansion of production is in planning
Polestar CEO Ingenlath is reportedly already thinking about expanding production capacity: "We're looking forward to participating in the Geneva Show and are eager to hear the feedback and reactions to our first model and our new brand." One can be curious.
