The best cars in Switzerland were selected by a jury of experts. You can find the winners on the Internet. 385 models were put to the readers' vote in eleven categories. However, the readers did not just vote for their favorites. As part of "Best Brands", certain brand values had to be assigned to the individual car brands in 13 categories.
Many Swiss importers defended their titles
Audi successfully defended their titles in the "Good workmanship" category, Toyota in the "Builds environmentally friendly cars" category, BMW in "Good customer service", Alfa Romeo in "Good looks and styling" and "I like the brand" and Porsche for "Builds sporty cars". Volvo cannot be knocked off its throne in the "High safety standards" category.
Dacia stands for good value for money
Dacia takes first place in the " " category. In the "High Reliability" category, Mercedes-Benz ousted last year's winner BMW from the top spot. In return, the white-and-blue brand took victory in the "Advanced Technology" category. Even in the "High resale value" category, the Bavarian car manufacturer enjoys the highest ranking.
Top spot thanks to victory in the Formula
Winning the Formula 1 World Championship helped Mercedes-Benz to reclaim victory in the "Successful in motorsport" category, pushing Porsche down to second place. Opel, on the other hand, was rewarded by auto-illustrierte readers with first place in the "Makes good advertising" category.
Pascal is the best driver in Switzerland
In addition to the "Best Cars", the "Swiss Driver of the Year" was also honored during the long night of the industry. Around 400 drivers competed for the title. After 14 tough exercises on the grounds of TCS Training & Events in Stockental, Pascal Wedam (36) from Regensdorf narrowly came out on top in the final and can now look forward to a VW Golf GTI, which he can drive for a year. Runner-up Fabio Orlando will receive a set of alloy wheels from Continental Switzerland and Guillaume Légeret a set of winter or summer tires, also from Continental Switzerland.
