Following its premiere at the North American International Auto Show (still in Detroit until January 28, 2018), it will make its European debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March and go on sale in the fall. With a weight reduction of more than 100 kilograms, the 2019 Ram model is the lightest yet in the history of the popular pickup. To improve fuel efficiency, the 2019 generation is equipped with the eTorque mild hybrid system equipped.
Slight improvement in consumption
The Ram 1500 uses the longest, lightest and most efficient frame in the pickup segment. Compared to the previous model, the weight of the chassis alone has been reduced by 54 kilograms. The weight reduction helps with ride comfort and ensures a slight improvement in fuel consumption.
The turning circle is a proud 14 meters
For the most spacious cabin in its class, the wheelbase has been extended on three trim levels: the Ram 1500 Crew Cab with short bed has a wheelbase of 3.67 meters, while the long version comes in at 3.90 meters (extended by 10 centimeters in each case). The Ram 1500 Quad Cab Longbed measures 3.57 meters from front axle to rear axle. From curb to curb, Ram's new pickup has a turning circle of about 14 meters.
Standard drive with 305 hp and 366 Nm
The improved eTorque version of the Pentastar V6 with 305 hp and 366 newton meters (Nm) of torque serves as the standard engine for most trim levels. The 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine combines the power of 395 hp and 558 Nm of torque with fuel-saving technologies such as variable valve timing and cylinder deactivation.
