70 Bugatti Chiron delivered in 2017
BUGATTI CHIRON 500 will exist, 300 have already been sold at a unit price of over 2.8 million euros, and exactly 70 have been delivered since March 2017: the hypercar manufacturer from Molsheim (F) has thus achieved the annual target it set itself. It is the most impressive hypercar of the moment: the Bugatti Chiron. Its 16-cylinder W engine produces 1500 hp from eight liters of displacement, and up to 1600 Nm of torque is transmitted to the road via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. According to computer simulations, the top speed should be 463 km/h; Bugatti specifies 420 km/h, after which the limiter regulates the speed. Without the speed limiter, a real 458 km/h should be possible. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is supposed to take place in under 2.5 seconds. Bugatti gives a combined fuel consumption of 22.5 liters. At full throttle, the tank is supposed to be empty in less than ten minutes.
In the video embedded above, Bugatti beautifully demonstrates that it still takes a lot of guts and a dead-straight, empty road to get anywhere near the limit. Formula 1 legend Juan Pablo Montoya accelerates the flounder from 0 to 400 km/h with Launch Control and slows it back down to 0. This takes him 42 seconds and 3112 meters.
With regard to orders, Bugatti says that 43 percent of its customers come from Europe, 26 percent from North America (USA and Canada) and 23 percent from the Middle East. The remaining eight percent are spread across the Asia-Pacific region.
