The dimensions of the Opel Insignia Country Tourer, which has been raised by 20 millimeters, are identical to those of the station wagon.

After the Grand Sport and Kombi Sports Tourer, Opel is launching the Country Tourer. The dimensions are identical to those of the station wagon. That means 4.99 meters of exterior length and 2.83 meters of wheelbase for the Country Tourer. Rough looks are provided by black fender flares and a silver underride guard. To ensure that the Country Tourer can also handle light terrain, Opel raises the Blitz by 20 millimeters and equips the Country Tourer with all-wheel drive including torque vectoring.

New diesel engine The top powerplant is the new 2.0 bi-turbo diesel. Thanks to sequential two-stage turbocharging, the unit produces 210 hp. The top gasoline engine is the two-liter turbo direct-injection unit with 260 hp. Together with the new eight-speed automatic transmission and the Twinster all-wheel drive system, both engines provide a great deal of driving pleasure.

Space and roof load To enlarge the luggage compartment, the second row of seats can be folded down from the trunk at the touch of a button. A maximum of 1665 liters then fit behind the front seats. And the standard roof rails can carry up to 100 kg.

First impression The higher ride height does not have a negative effect on the handling characteristics. Despite the higher center of gravity, Opel's big car does not lean too much in fast curves, remains neutral for a long time and can be controlled safely. Prices start at 44,900 Swiss francs.
