EICMA: We are looking forward to these dream bikes
Due to the introduction of Euro 4, most motorcycle models were relaunched for 2017. And yet, at the world's most important trade show, the EICMA in Milano, a host of electrifying premieres drove the pulse up.
BMW is launching four new models next year, including the two mid-range travel enduros F 750 GS and F 850 GS starting in March. The F 750 GS (from CHF 9950.-) is a touring enduro with a low seat height and great all-round capabilities, while the F 850 GS (from CHF 12,600.-) comes with increased power and torque and has more pronounced touring qualities.
Ducati Panigale V4 The new 198 kg super sports car is powered by the new sixteen-valve V4, which produces 214 hp and 126 Nm from 1103 cm3. Both the top "Speciale" version and the S version are another 3 kg lighter. The V4 is now available from CHF 23,990 (S: CHF 29,990), the V4 Speciale from March for CHF 42,900. The large Multistrada 1260 (from CHF 18,490.-) has also been relaunched.
Manufacturer in the design frenzy After ten years, Honda is launching a new CB 1000 R with 145 hp in April. The design is a mixture of sport naked and cafe racer, which is why it is called "Neo Sports Cafe". The Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 (from CHF 11,990.-) and the two 401s (Vitpilen and Svartpilen, from CHF 7390.-) will be at the dealers by spring at the latest. With the Ninja H2 SX and the SX SE, which will be available from February, Kawasaki is now opening up supercharger technology to all those who are more interested in sporty touring than high-speed racing.
At the EICMA, KTM unveiled the 169 kg light 790 Duke with a new, 105 hp in-line two-cylinder. The Austrians call the sister of the 1290 Super Duke "The Scalpel". And Triumph redesigned both the Tiger 800 and the Tiger 1200, making the touring enduros lighter above all.
