German manufacturers are also expecting growth for 2016 as a whole. Consumption is being supported by low interest rates, rising real incomes and employment as well as low fuel prices. Matthias Wissmann spoke out emphatically in favor of efficient and clean diesel: "The manipulation of software concerns a company that is working hard to clear up these incidents and regain customer trust. However, we are resisting the constant attempts to place the entire industry and diesel under general suspicion."
