With Gabriele Tarquini and Alain Menu, the Italian BRC Racing team is relying on two experienced drivers to bring real-world racing experience to the first customer cars of the 2018 season.
Customer vehicles planned
Hyundai is about to produce the first customer vehicles designed for use in national and international touring car championships under the regulations of the increasingly popular TCR (Touring Car Racing). Based on the 5-door Hyundai i30 and the derived sports version i30 N, they developed a race car that brings the performance of the road car to the race track.
Success times two
With Italian Gabriele Tarquini and Swiss Alain Menu, the BRC Racing Team is relying on two cracks with decades of experience in touring car racing for the last two races of the TCR International Series. Gabriele Tarquini brings with him, among other things, a European and a world championship title in touring car racing. Alain Menu from Geneva, on the other hand, claimed no fewer than 36 victories and two championship titles in the fiercely contested British Touring Car Championship.
N-Series
In accordance with TCR regulations, the i30 N TCR has a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a six-speed manual transmission. The fuel tank has a specific filling system suitable for racing, which enables it to be used in sprint and endurance races. The first project implemented by Hyundai Motorsport already attracted attention at the start of the German ADAC TCR Championship. The next stage of development will follow with racing in China (Zhejiang Circuit) next October 8 and in Abu Dhabi (Yas Marina Circuit) on November 26.
