His teammate will be Frenchman Jean-Karl Vernay. Technical support comes from the successful Belgian team WRT, which has made a name for itself in GT racing and is now entering TCR in partnership with Leopard and Stefano Comini. WRT team boss Vincent Vosse will also be Stefano Comini's manager.
Wage like a normal employee
For Stefano Comini, 2016 is a dream come true: "For the first time in my career, I no longer have to pay for driving, but I get paid for it. I certainly don't earn as much as a Marcel Fässler, but I do earn as much as a normal employee. What's more, I can now concentrate fully on driving, after I had to invest a lot of energy last year in finding sponsors to be able to contest the championship at all until the end of the season."
On the grid for Seat in the TCR Italia series in 2016
However, the Ticino native will remain with the Seat brand and the Swiss Seat importer: "For me, Seat Switzerland is like a family, so I'm delighted that I'll be driving a Leon in the new TCR Italia. Together with a race for the new North American TCR Championship as part of the GP Mexico and four races in China, this will bring me to about 23 weeks where I will be away from home."
