Externally, the SUV has a new look with an impressive radiator grille and a matte black front bumper with angular turn signals and fog lamps. A new feature is LED daytime running lights. Also available as standard on the top "Sapphire" variant are 25-watt HID headlights. All Korando models are equipped as standard with alloy wheels in the new design, in 16", 17" or 18" depending on the version. The equipment package in striking chrome look is standard on the "Sapphire" equipment line.
Much usable space
The interior also presents itself in a fresh design. The dashboard made of materials that are pleasant to the touch with carbon look inserts offers a touch of luxury. The rear seat is split 60:40. With 486 liters of storage space (1312 liters with the rear seat folded down), the compact SUV offers one of the largest trunks in the SUV segment. In addition, there is a storage compartment for valuables under the trunk floor.
The equipment of the Korando model year 2017 also features various improvements, such as the 7-inch audio system that can be connected to smartphones. It can also be used as a monitor for the rear-view camera. The Bluetooth hands-free system allows the safe use of cell phones while driving. The exterior mirrors fold in and out automatically and are equipped with vehicle ambient lighting.
Modern diesel and gasoline engines
The Korando is available in two Euro 6 engine versions: with the further developed 178 hp e-XDi220 diesel engine with 400 Newton meters of torque and with the e-XGi200 gasoline engine with 149 hp and 197 Newton meters of torque. A manual six-speed transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission is available as an option. The Korando is equipped with intelligent all-wheel drive. The torque-on-demand system, a continuously variable torque distribution system, detects the road conditions and distributes the drive power to the axle that particularly needs it at the time. In normal driving operation, 100 percent of the power is on the front axle.
Safety is ensured by a wide range of assistants, such as electronic stability program, emergency brake assist, hill start assist and the active rollover protection system (ARP). Maximum safety is ensured by six airbags as standard. An innovative restraint system also prevents passengers from being ejected in rollover accidents.
