The representative survey of over 2,300 Swiss citizens was conducted by the publishing house "Das Beste - Reader's Digest" in November 2016. VW was named "Most Trusted Brand" by 202 people, or eleven percent of respondents.
Wide range of brands
A total of 57 different automobile brands were available as possible answers. The survey participants were recruited from the publisher's customer base. The quota was based on a representative distribution according to age and gender.
Trust in the brand unbroken
The aim of this survey, which is conducted annually, is to survey and monitor the brand trust of Swiss consumers. The survey asks about all brands in all industries. In the automotive category, the specific question was: "Please spontaneously name the brand here that you personally trust most in the respective industry and that you would recommend to friends or family."
Volkswagen ahead in the rating
Audi was in second place with 166 entries. Toyota, Mercedes Benz, Opel and BMW followed in the next ranks. In total, 57 different automotive brands were named by the respondents. Asked about this result, Peter Schmid, Volkswagen Brand Head Switzerland, says: "This result makes us proud and is an incentive to continue to fulfill the great trust placed in our brand in the future."
